Existen varias teorías acerca de la extraña y fría relación, que existe actualmente entre William y Harry, y por lo tanto, entre sus esposas, Kate y Meghan.
La escritora, especialista en realeza, Katie Nicholl, asegura que el hijo menor de Lady Di tomó a mal un comentario de su hermano mayor: William le preguntó a Harry si no sentía que era una decisión prematura casarse con Meghan, el ahora duque de Sussex enfureció y terminó con la relación fraternal que tenían desde niños.

Harry, de 35 años, y Meghan, de 37, mantuvieron en secreto su noviazgo un año y medio; se comprometieron en noviembre de 2017 y se casaron cinco meses después, y el 6 de mayo pasado, nació su primogénito, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
También se ha dicho que Harry le ha reclamado a su hermano mayor por serle infiel a su esposa, Kate, pues ese fue el motivo por el que terminó el matrimonio de sus padres, el príncipe Carlos y Lady Di.

The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Durante los eventos públicos en los que Harry y William han sido vistos últimamente, han actuado como completos desconocidos, mientras que en el pasado se les veía unidos, sonrientes y en complicidad.
Otra señal del distanciamiento fue que Harry y Meghan abandonaron el Palacio de Kensington para vivir en Frogmore Cottage, propiedad de la reina Isabel II. De esa forma, pusieron tierra de por medio entre William y Kate.
Los nietos de la reina Isabel también tomaron la decisión de tener diferentes oficinas de prensa, separar sus cuentas de Instagram y finalmente sus fundaciones benéficas.

En junio William y Kate anunciaron que la Royal Foundation, en la que siempre habían colaborado William y Harry, se convertiría en La Fundación Real del duque y la duquesa de Cambridge. Y el día de hoy el duque y la duquesa de Sussex, revelaron oficialmente el nombre de su nueva fundación: Sussex Royal Foundation. Este hecho termina por confirmar los mal entendidos que existen entre los hermanos.
